Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and AVID.I recently graduated from American University with an MFA in Film & Electronic Media. Since the beginning of my graduate education, I focused my studies on the pursuit of a career in filmmaking, taking classes in screenwriting, directing, editing, producing, and film history. Simultaneously, I worked two jobs as a freelance editor and teaching assistant to gain experience in the industry. After graduation, I continued my freelance career and completed 20 productions as an editor, director, screenwriter, and sound mixer. These projects have given me hands-on experience in the industry and allowed me to hone my editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, AVID and Final Cut Pro X. In 2019, my mashup edit, “Autobiographical Mashup”, the first major project I edited, won two awards at the 2019 American University Vision Awards - “WIFV Craft Editing” and “Best Editing/Mashup”. In the longterm, I would like to edit and write films, eventually directing my own stories, focusing on topics like women's rights, environmental protection, individual freedoms, and human perseverance. I want to create films that inspire, entertain, and educate. I have worked on films that focus on issues of racial discrimination, environmental pollution, gentrification, immigration, and wildlife conservation. Telling these stories is important to me because film is one of the most influential mediums, shaping my world as a child. Therefore, getting the chance to create touching, thought-provoking films that create awareness is my passion as a creator. While at American University, I was also a graduate teaching assistant. For two years, I worked in the television production studio, captioned online videos, conducted topic research, organized and managed professor schedules, contacted students, set up meetings, and co-produced a student award show. While co-producing the awards show I organized and coordinated 30+ judges and maintained daily communication with them via phone and email, sending them Excel spreadsheets, google sheets and invitations to the award show. After graduation, I continued my freelance career and in two years completed 20 productions as editor, director, screenwriter, and sound mixer.
